Pennsylvania Ministry Leaders:
Ryan Geesaman, former Video Production Director from LCBC Church and current academic dean at Lancaster Bible College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, is continuing research on church live streaming that he began in 2020. The integration of media into a social system like the church is not neutral. It has some effect on the institution – a process known as mediatization.
The goal of his research is to determine the impact that the pandemic had on the adoption of live-streaming technology by evangelical churches in Pennsylvania as well as the effects that those churches have experiences, positive or negative. The results of this research will give us a better understanding of what the adoption of live streaming has meant for the evangelical churches of Pennsylvania.
How will participation in the 10-minute survey benefit you? Ryan will provide an executive summary of his findings if you provide your contact information at the end of the survey so that you can compare the experience of your church with other churches in the state. This information will help you as you continue to craft or tweak your online church strategy.
