The Annual Church Profile collects data that is used by the SBC Executive Committee and by the Baptist Resource Network to measure the health and growth of our churches. The BRN uses this vital data to effectively plan events, strategize resources, and evaluate the needs of our churches.
Congratulations to Pastor John Toone, who had served as East Shore’s associate pastor from June 2014 until his appointment as senior pastor this past week.
BRN extends a welcome to Pastor Charles Blachford, the new pastor of Bux-Mont Baptist Church in Hatboro, Pennsylvania. Blachford, who is executive vice president at Missio Seminary in Philadelphia, previously served at Streamsong Church in Doylestown, a church plant out of Riverside Community Church in Horsham.
When the Philadelphia Public School system committed to virtual learning through November 17, a problem was created that was too big for any governing body or administration to solve alone. Bedrock Fishtown, a new church plant in Philadelphia, began asking and praying for ways they could be part of the solution for the upcoming school year.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, the Executive Board has determined that it is necessary to cancel the BRN Annual Business Session and Annual Gathering for 2020, originally slated for November 5-6.
Edinboro Community Church Next Gen Pastor Robbie Mays is serving in college ministry at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. “The reason I wanted to be in college ministry with a church is that once college students leave the campus or they graduate, there is nothing specifically tailored for them. So, many of them will end up leaving the church as a whole... I want them to be involved in the church as much as possible," said Mays.
Hurricane Isaias brought massive rain and flooding to the eastern portion of Pennsylvania and parts of New Jersey. Disaster Relief put out a call for flood and downed tree cleanup teams, and several churches responded.
