Have you ever found yourself questioning if being a leader is for you? Thinking that maybe you weren’t really called? Maybe you feel like you’ve given all you have to give and you’re done trying. Or how about the ever consistent statement, “I’m tired.”
Life’s trials and constantly living as a disciple of Christ can leave us in a dry barren state at times, wondering where the abundant living is found.
In such a season I began searching for some inspiration. That’s when I found this book on my bookshelf. The tag line was what drew me to read it because honestly I felt dried up and had no overflow left.
“Serving out of your intimacy with God” is the tagline below the title. Wow, it dawned upon me then that I was dry not because of the serving God. I was dry because of the intimacy with God was weak. I realized I wasn’t tired, I was weak.
Reading this book was a journey back to intimacy. The questions at the end of each chapter opened up conversation with God that honestly drew me into a closer relationship with Him. My outlook of service flowing from being instead of doing a part for him, restored in me the source of my service. My faith and trust in God’s ways began to compel me to love him more. Desire for God filled my dryness as I went through the chapters. And that abundant life? It’s overflowing!
Read this book if you need a personal revival! I’m glad I did.
God’s Blessings on you.
