MCKEES ROCKS, Pa., (BRN) – Faithbridge Community Church’s Block Party was amazing and attended by hundreds of folks from our community. Many folks got to hear the gospel shared thanks in part to an evangelism grant given by the Baptist Resource Network (BRN).
We ran out of burgers, although we had more than 400. Thankfully, we still had hotdogs and chili to carry us to the end of the event. The local police assisted us and we were able to feed everyone on shift. The bounce house we rented was 90 minutes late arriving, but it filled up fast and brought smiles to the faces of lots of kids. Northside Baptist Church of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, had a group of teens here to help with all the games and they did a terrific job! Their help allowed our folks to engage with the adults, and several of our folks were able to share the gospel with people and three adults accepted Christ at the event in one-on-one conversations. We had six people baptized at the end of the evening, bringing our total in 17 years of Faithbridge to 233! We also have some others to baptize at another outreach before the end of summer.
We are following up with families we met for the first time through our team of folks who do visitations, and we’re setting up to engage the whole community, in partnership with Saturate USA as well as other local churches, with an outreach concert on August 13. Another awesome thing is we’re starting “release time education” with LifeWise Academy, where our local High School, Sto-Rox, will have students (whose parents sign them up) come across the street to our facility to learn about Jesus and his teachings. Lots of good is going on, and lots of madness is still happening in the community, so we ask for your prayers as we keep plugging away!
