Philadelphia pastors present George Liele Scholarship donation to International Mission Board
On March 11, several Philadelphia pastors, led by Pastor Ricky Wilson of Christian Faith Fellowship, toured the International Mission Board (IMB) in Richmond, Virginia, culminating in a presentation of a $5,000 donation from several churches and the BRN to IMB President Paul Chitwood for George Liele Mission Scholarships.
These scholarships provide for expanded international missions knowledge and experiences among Black and African-American Southern Baptist churches. Pastor Wilson serves as a trustee for the IMB. He was accompanied at the IMB by Henry Boyd, Michael Stitt, Joe Nock, Barry Whitworth, Jerome Coleman, Brian King, Quintell Hill, Larry Anderson, and Hal Hopkins.
Faithbridge Community Church invests in discipleship with D-Life training
On March 1, twenty-eight people attended a D-Life Training at Faithbridge Community Church in McKees Rocks, Pa. Ready with a noticeable desire to learn how to be disciple makers, David Ludwig, D-Life trainer and BRN director of discipleship and leadership development, reported that the people were “engaged, asking questions, and ready to get started.”
During the training, one woman shared that she came with a friend and didn’t know what to expect. The training ended up being exactly what she needed for her women’s group. Others were interested in how they could use the training to disciple their family members, and several were talking about how they could start D-Groups in their community. Following the training,10 people indicated that they are ready to take their next step in making disciples!

Women at God’s Field Church continue D-Life efforts
The women at God’s Field Church in Ambridge, Pa., are stepping up and diving in deep as they continue their Discipleship for Life (D-Life) group. As part of a bi-monthly mission project, the women are taking turns facilitating the church’s monthly women’s Bible Study and Brunch. What a great opportunity to grow and bless fellow sisters in Christ!
Iron sharpens iron at Browns Mills Baptist Church monthly Men’s Breakfast
On March 1, Browns Mills Baptist Church had 24 Christ-centered men attend the monthly men’s prayer breakfast. After the men enjoyed a delicious breakfast together, they had their spirits fed by Rev. Steven Philipp who is affiliated with First Baptist Church in Laurelton, New Jersey.
At this monthly breakfast, men can share their personal testimonies and hear a powerful message from guest speakers, like Rev. Philipp. The next men’s prayer breakfast will be on April 5, at 9-11 a.m. in the fellowship hall at the Browns Mills Baptist Church.
Intentional time of fellowship encourages Women at Edgewood Church
On Sat., March 8, the women of Edgewood Church in Beaver Falls, Pa., gathered for their annual Women’s Breakfast event. The women shared a meal prepared by the men of Edgewood and then were encouraged by a sweet time of worship and a message about what God says about our identity. Women of all ages benefited from this intentional time of fellowship!
State Rep. discusses Serve Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and more with Cross Creek Community Church
Josh Coldren, senior pastor of Cross Creek Community Church in Trucksville, Pa., and BRN church advancement consultant, met with State Representative Brenda Pugh on March 11. They talked about Serve Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, a mission project that will be taking place in June with the Baptist Resource Network (BRN) and the wild game dinner that is taking place on March 15 at Cross Creek Community Church.
