Philadelphia pastors attend town hall meeting and offer spiritual counsel amidst plane crash tragedy

On Feb. 5, Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker hosted a town hall meeting in Northeast Philadelphia to address those impacted by the tragic plane crash that took place on Jan. 31.

Pastor Nathaniel Holder, senior pastor at St. John Memorial Baptist Church, Dr. Robert Fontell, senior pastor at Calvary Christian Church, and Dr. Larry Anderson, senior pastor at Great Commission Church and BRN Director of Church Advancement and Evangelism, attended the gathering. After hearing many stories from the community, the pastors reported that the greatest need now is prayer. BRN EVANGELISM GRANT: Family movie night leads to one accepting Christ at Harvest Kittanning

In January, Harvest Community Church in Kittanning, Pa., hosted a family movie night for their community. The church saw nearly 190 people come out for the event, including one kiddo who ended up accepting Jesus as his Lord and Savior! Read More

Cornerstone Fellowship gathers for annual soup and salad fellowship

Members of Cornerstone Fellowship in Erial, New Jersey, hung around after worship on Sunday, Feb. 2, for the church’s annual soup and salad luncheon. This event allowed the body at Cornerstone Fellowship to share a meal together and enjoy fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ.

Spirits and stomachs are fed at Browns Mills Baptist Church monthly men’s prayer breakfast

On Feb.1, Browns Mills Baptist Church in Browns Mills, New Jersey, had 14 men attend their monthly men’s prayer breakfast. After the men enjoyed a delicious breakfast together, they had their spirits fed by Brother Mark Weston. Weston is affiliated with Change Church in Westampton, New Jersey.

At this monthly breakfast, iron sharpens iron, men can share their personal testimonies and hear a powerful message from guest speakers like Brother Mark Weston. The next men’s prayer breakfast will be on March 1, 9-11 a.m. in the fellowship hall at Browns Mills Baptist Church.

Big Woods Bible Church in Lock Haven, Pa., rejoices over seven baptisms on first Sunday of February

Big Woods Bible Church in Lock Haven, Pa., celebrated seven baptisms on Sunday, Feb. 2!  The majority of those baptized were young adults, including two individuals associated with the church’s college ministry. Four go public with their faith in Jesus at Redeeming Grace Church in Bethel Park, Pa.

On Sunday, Feb. 2, Redeeming Grace Church in Bethel Park, Pa., rejoiced over four baptisms! Each person shared a brief testimony of how God has worked in their life, and how He brought them to this moment of publicly declaring faith in Jesus. Praise the Lord for these brothers and sisters in Christ! Please join us in celebrating with them and the entire Redeeming Grace Church family!

Welcome to the BRN Family: Harvest Community Church – Corry

The faint scent of aftershave and neatly arranged shampoo bottles were the start of humble beginnings for Harvest Community Church – Corry in 2022, when the young church plant first began meeting at Deluxe Barber Co. in downtown Corry, Pennsylvania.

In 2024, Harvest obtained its own building in the quaint, northwestern town of Corry and officially launched on April 7, 2024. The church has continued to grow and thrive under the direction of planter and lead pastor Cam Atha. Read More

In Memoriam:

Hugh Frank Miller Jr.

Hugh Franklin Miller, Jr., former director of missions for Greater Philadelphia Baptist Association, went home to be with the Lord at the age of 86 on Feb. 1, 2025. A funeral service was held for Hugh at Parkland Baptist Church in Louisville, Ky., on Feb. 6th at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Baptist Resource Network with a memo of “Legacy Fund – In memory of Dr. Frank Miller.”
