WILKES-BARRE, Pa., (BRN) – With the help of a Baptist Resource Network (BRN) Evangelism Grant, Restored Church worked with a select few members from our body who have been extensively trained through the Timothy Initiative and mobilized them to reach their field.

What actually happened?

We have taken numerous opportunities to position individuals into places where they may be able to practice and seize moments for spiritual conversations. Funds from the evangelism grant were used for many different avenues to help our select members have opportunities from meals to booths at festivals.

What was the fruit we saw from the event?

We saw a number of amazing things happen that have resulted in numerous salvations. Here are a few stories worth sharing:

  •  4th of July Festival – We purchased a booth at the festival and placed trained individuals at the booth. We purchased cold items that could  be given away, like water bottles and snow cones to help draw people in on a hot day. We saw two people come to Christ as a result of this event.

 

  • The Mall – We had a small group of Timothy’s go to some local big box stores and the mall with $20 and challenged them to use the money to put them in conversations about Jesus and look to see if they could share the gospel. Some went to Barnes and Noble and used it to grab a cup of coffee and look at books, others went to the food court at the Mall. At the mall one of our Timothy’s was able to lead a kiosk employee to Christ.

 

  • Basketball Courts – On another occasion, we sent our Timothy’s down to the local park with a basketball to interact with people and others to walk the park and speak with families. Two of our people played ball with a young man at the courts and were able to lead him to Christ. After prayer and finishing their game, they were able to give him the brand new basketball as a gift.
