Hello BRN Family, it’s good to be with you today!
I believe there has never been a better time to be bold… bold in our prayer, bold in our witness, and bold in our belief that God will do great things! Proverbs 28:1 says, “The wicked flee when no one is pursuing them, but the righteous are bold as a lion.”
Toward that aim, we are trusting God for even greater things through the Baptist Resource Network and our family of churches. Mark your calendars now for Tuesday, October 8, when we will host this year’s Accelerate Conference with the theme, “Bold: Next Level.” At this year’s Accelerate Conference, we are attempting to do things differently, or should I say, more boldly!
Dr. Larry Anderson, BRN director of church health, and I will seek to boldly proclaim God’s energizing power in our keynote presentations and as we unveil the BRN’s “Next Level Blueprint,” which is designed to encourage and assist BRN churches to move to their next level in ministry. In our third keynote presentation, we will also hear from four BRN church pastors who will share how they have been bold in moving their churches to the next level.
We also will host 12 one-hour breakout sessions from bold speakers who will challenge BRN churches and pastors to be bold in every aspect of ministry. Members from Fellowship CrossPoint Church in Chesterfield, N.J., will wrap all the sessions with worship, helping us to remember to keep our focus on our mighty God.
Our BRN team has prayed over each presenter, all who were selected because of their demonstrated and inspirational boldness. We believe what they will share will be contagious! It is my desire that BRN churches all over our network will dream and act boldly, take hold of all that God has for them, and inspire others to have courage and rise up to do more than ever for God’s Kingdom. This year’s venue will be in a new location: the Holiday Inn Harrisburg-Hershey Hotel in Grantville, Pa., about 10 minutes east of Harrisburg. On the Monday evening preceding the conference, you will have the opportunity to participate in a dessert fellowship and a hearty whiteboard discussion about bold dreams for the future of the churches in the Baptist Resource Network or a Legacy Planning Workshop for pastors and their church members to understand the importance of preparing for the future. You are also invited to a breakfast sponsored by Pennsylvania Family Council and the Church Ambassador Network on Tuesday morning. Kurt Weaver will speak on the topic, “A Call to Civic Engagement: How the church can be the light in government.”
