PHILADELPHIA (BRN) – Redemption Heights Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, held a block party for our neighborhood (Overbrook in West Philly) from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023.
God provided great weather and an incredible turnout. Almost every person who attended came from within walking distance. In total, we served more than 250 people!
Activities included face painting, inflatables, balloon animals, crafts, a caricature artist and more. In addition, we served popcorn, Chick-Fil-A, donuts and pretzels. We were able to provide all of these goodies for free.
Our neighbors and friends received love and encouragement. More importantly, we had the opportunity to pray with and share the gospel with many people. We estimate that throughout the event we had a total of 30 gospel conversations. Everyone who attended also filled out a registration card, allowing us to follow up with personal invitations and deeper conversations.
