Hey BRN Family, Elizabeth here and it’s time for the November Top 5!
#1: Wow! We are so thankful for how the Lord moved during our October 8 Accelerate Conference last month. Nearly 300 individuals representing 90 churches from across our two-state region had the opportunity to be challenged to be bold! Thank you to all who attended. Were you not able to join us? No worries! The main session and breakout sessions replays were recorded and are posted on www.acceleratepasj.com along with a pdf of the printed program. On brnunited.org/news, you can read the manuscript of Dr. Barry Whitworth’s address and the Accelerate Conference wrap-up article. Thank you.
#2: Did you know our disaster relief volunteers have been very busy in the aftermath of Hurricanes Helene and Milton? Several teams have joined other disaster relief volunteers in Spartanburg, S.C., and Sarasota, Fla., and are now going to other N.C. and Florida locations. Already, there have been nearly 1,500 (1,447) gospel presentations resulting in 134 professions of faith (so far!), over 860,000 (867,612) meals prepared, and over 2,100 (2,178) cleanup/recovery jobs completed to date. Praise the Lord! Disaster Relief plans to continue forming teams every week through the rest of the year. Interested? Contact Kenton Hunt at kentonh@brnunited.org. Those who haven’t had training yet can do online training at brnunited.org/courses. Thank you!
#3: Can you believe it is almost Thanksgiving? Days like Thanksgiving give us a good opportunity to pause and think about all the Lord has done in and through you. This has already been a momentous year of ministry for Baptist Resource Network churches, and we are incredibly thankful for the work you and your church does on a daily basis to impact your communities. We are constantly hearing of baptisms and seeing evidence of many outreaches to neighborhoods, schools, and person-to-person evangelism by our churches. We are sensing the movement of God all around us, and for that we are very thankful! Please know we pray for you often. Happy Thanksgiving!
#4: Following on the heels of Thanksgiving is the season for the Lottie Moon Christmas Week of Prayer and Offering for International Missions. Check your mailboxes for the package of resources to use in your church. 100% of your gifts provide missionaries the services they need to live among the unreached peoples they serve. Will you pray about how you can help over 3,500 IMB missionaries serving throughout the world? Their work is only possible through your generosity. Learn more here.
#5: And don’t forget! On Nov. 2, beginning at 10 a.m., the PA/SJ WMU will host its 2024 annual meeting at Redland Baptist Church in New Cumberland, Pa., for 6th-12th grade girls and all adults interested in missions. Registration costs $10, which includes lunch. Email pa.sjwmu@gmail.com for more information.
That’s all for November. Thanks for watching, BRN Family. We appreciate you and we are thankful for you!
