CHERRY HILL, NJ, (BRN) – This event culminated on Aug. 28, 2023 by gathering all nine basketball teams at The Church of the Good Shepherd Cherry Hill in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, for a send-off party before heading to the Labor Day weekend competition against other Filipino communities from different states.
Through this opportunity, we encouraged our teams to not only enjoy the moment of representing the Cherry Hill community, but at the same time to be aware of the most important thing in life: The gospel and the salvation of their souls. We hope through the common interest of basketball our teams can spread the gospel through their actions and words to those they compete against.
In 2023, we saw 150 individuals participate in the basketball competition. Throughout the summer, the gospel was shared with team members through one-on-one and small group conversations as well as through one big presentation by Pastor Darius Nable at the end of the season.
