ERIE (BRN) – Baptist Resource Network, thank you for your generous award though a recent evangelism grant. Walnut Creek Baptist Church in Erie, Pennsylvania, is thrilled to report that our Vacation Bible School (VBS) was a huge success!

This year, we hosted Keepers of the Kingdom Vacation Bible School on June 25-29. While other churches in our community have discontinued their VBS programming due to lack of volunteers, we were blessed to have over 30 members of our church family give of their time during the week.

We began our week with 45 children registered; nearly a third of the children were from families outside our church. By the end of the week, we were averaging 60 children each night. Throughout each evening, divided classes of children ages 2-12 learned about the armor of God through crafts, science experiments and snacks. Most importantly, they spent their lesson time learning to defend the gospel!

With the money we received though this grant, we were able to purchase classroom materials and supplies to enhance the children’s overall experience. We were not only able to reach children in our community, but we encouraged attending children to bring school supplies to donate to Elk Valley Community School in Girard, a neighboring community. We donated over 100 school supplies to be given out for free to community children. To God be the glory!

Receiving this grant has only added to the blessings that we have experienced because of partnering with the Baptist Resource Network. We thank you for your support and we look forward to giving that same support to fellow network churches in the future.
