Thomas “Tommy” E. Harmon, 69, of Harveys Lake, passed Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at his daughter’s home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Berwick, Nov. 12, 1954, and was the son of the late Martin and Janice Harmon.
Tommy graduated from Berwick High School where he played football with the Berwick Bull Dawgs under coach George Curry. He served in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Fort Hood, Texas, serving in the 545th Military Police Company, 1st Calvary Division. Thomas was the pastor at West Falls Baptist Church for 40 years. He also worked for PPL Susquehanna Steam Electric serving as a buyer support clerk and invoice processing clerk, retiring after 40 years of service to the company. He loved his family, hunting, fishing, church family, vacations, family trips, friend trips, reloading, trap shooting and was also a rifle and pistol marksman.
Tom is survived by his wife, Brenda, who he married on Feb. 16, 1985; brothers, Tim, Marty, Dan (Cathy) and Mike Harmon; sister, Sue Cope; children, Jamie Harmon and fiancé, Tammy Hunsinger; and Michelle Cox; sisters-in-law, Nancy Harmon and Karen Matlowski (Stan); grandchildren, Allison Harmon and Charissa Hunsinger; great-grandchildren, Jeremey, Miley, Dakoda and Hudson; stepmother, Joan Harmon; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 6, from Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with the Rev. Bob Sabol officiating.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to service time.
Future interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lake Twp.
