PHILADELPHIA (BRN) – Great Commission Church (GCC) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, hosted its annual Hope 4 Philly event at Pennypacker School, located at 1858 East Washington Lane, on Sept. 9, 2023 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Through Hope 4 Philly, Great Commission Church and other churches, in partnership with businesses and community organizations, brought job resources, healthcare and social services to the community. Most importantly, we brought the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We had 400 attendees at the event. During the event, we provided the community with carnival games, faith-based activities and complimentary food. We shared the gospel from the stage, from our prayer tent and in individual interactions as our volunteers mingled with the crowd. We estimate that a total of 30 gospel conversations took place, and praise the Lord for the two souls that were saved!
We are also gratified that we served the people of West Oak Lane, a working-class community located in the northwest section of Philadelphia, by partnering with the business, health, social service and church communities. We addressed specific community needs such as employment, health screenings and educational opportunities, while also addressing their spiritual needs.
