NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. (BRN) – The second annual Victory in the Valley Christian Music Festival was another great success! This year, we – Grace Baptist Church – partnered with Family Life and they had a few representatives present to share.
We began the event at 4 p.m. with a local praise and worship band, followed by Damon Covert, A Day Awaits and John Tibbs. Our featured performers included Jamie Kimmett and Tasha Layton.A couple of those artists were with us last year and that benefited some of the turn out. It was great to have them in our small town and to hear their stories of how they came to know Jesus. Having a variety of performers gave the audience an opportunity to hear their various testimonies. We all go through different things in life and this allowed for more people to be reached, rather than just one or two performers.
In addition to the testimonies of the performers, we had a local pastor share the gospel. Pastor Jimmy Swogger of Oakland Church of God in Distant, Pennsylvania, spent approximately 15 minutes sharing the gospel with the crowd. He did a fabulous job of making it relatable for those who may not know Jesus. He focused on the hope that is only found through Jesus Christ.
We also had a prayer tent set up for anyone who requested prayer. People could go as needed, and there were local pastors and other prayer warriors on hand to pray over their needs. Other things available throughout the event included a Victory in the Valley Information tent, Next Step Pregnancy Center tent, Geneva College tent, Heaven Cent tent and concessions. Leading up to the event, there was a team of approximately a dozen people who organized and planned out the day, but it took much more to make it all happen. All told, between concessions, prayer tent, artist merchandise tents, table and canopy set up and parking there were roughly 40 volunteers. We estimated approximately 450 -500 attendees. We are pretty happy with that number and expect more people to hear the gospel in the future as word of this event spreads throughout the community and the surrounding areas. Thank you so much for your contribution to this event. It was a fabulous way to share the gospel and something that our community really needed! God Bless you and the work you do!
