NEW HOLLAND, Pa., (BRN) – First Baptist Church of New Holland served the New Holland police and the community at a National Night Out event on Tuesday, Aug. 1.
We distributed around 500 snow cones in about two hours along with friendliness, literature for adults introducing the church with the gospel on the back and gospel bracelets with explanations for the children. In total, we gave away an estimate of 300 flyers with a simple gospel message for adults and about 400 gospel bracelets with explanations and tracts to children.
We had over 25 volunteers, mostly from our church, at work. We wore t-shirts that said, “Jesus Changed My Life,” on the front and the church logo on the back. We were well received and it seemed be a good testimony. One of our men engaged between 5-10 people in conversation, and one of our ladies reported having two gospel conversations over the course of the night.
Additionally, a young man approached me (Pastor Jack) and gave me a medal because I am a Vietnam Vet (I was wearing my veterans cap.) He thanked me for being a vet and said, “This will protect you.”
I said, “Wait a minute I want to share something that will protect you.” I got him a flyer with the gospel on it and pointed it out, and gave him a church pen. It was an amicable conversation.
