Family movie night leads to one accepting Christ at Harvest Kittanning

In January, Harvest Community Church in Kittanning, Pa., hosted a family movie night for their community. The church saw nearly 190 people come out for the event, including one kiddo who ended up accepting Jesus as his Lord and Savior!

KITTANNING, Pa., (BRN) – On Jan. 11, Harvest Community Church in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, hosted a family movie night for their community.
Upon arrival, families were registered (so we can send them updates and invitations to other events – and another time to hear the gospel) and received light refreshments before heading into the auditorium to be seated for the movie.
On Jan. 11, Harvest Community Church – Kittanning hosted a family movie night for their community.
Halfway through the movie, Pastor Nate Adams gave the Gospel message during the intermission before our attendees were released to get dinner. He spoke for about 15 minutes and we believe the message was well received.
We are prayerful that a strong seed was planted in those who do not yet know Christ, and for those who do, an opportunity to be reminded of the blessing it is to know Him.
Afterward, everyone was dismissed to enjoy some dinner during the rest of intermission. We served pizza, chips, cookies and water/Capri Sun drinks. Families then headed back to watch the remainder of the movie.

At closing, our volunteer (who organized the movie nights this year) thanked everyone for attending, invited families to attend Harvest, emphasizing that our Kidz Ministry provides classes for nursery to 5th grade students and welcomed the adults to our weekend services.

I did not get an exact number (30 is a guess) of gospel conversations that took place during the event, but I witnessed a lot of conversations that seemed intentional, and many of our volunteers went out of their way to share with those who were new. We estimate that there were 190 people in attendance.

Many adults expressed their excitement of the movie nights, and the children could not stop asking their parents if they could attend the next one in February.
Many kids were already looking forward to the February family movie night at Harvest!

The following day, one of the children who came to the movie, attended church and accepted Christ during his class! The child was certainly excited, but so was the teacher!

We are so thankful for the opportunity to present the gospel to so many people, while, at the same time, providing a free, fun night for families to enjoy together.
