Jack Wattanawongsawang and his wife, Prinna Puakpong, watched the news on March 11, 2011, documenting the triple disaster unfolding in Japan – the earthquake, the tsunami and the nuclear power plant meltdown.

With no intention to go, Jack and Prinna prayed and asked God to send someone who wasn’t them to tell the Japanese they are loved by the God of the universe.

After praying, Jack told Prinna he felt the Lord calling them to serve as missionaries in Japan. She immediately said yes because the Lord had already been working in her heart.

In Japan, when someone becomes a Christian, they often experience persecution. This is why Jack and Prinna prayed that God would save entire families – and he did. Three generations of the Yoshida family committed their lives to Christ. They have since led others to Jesus and are now leading a group in their apartment.

The Cooperative Program takes the Gospel to the nations and the neighborhoods. Your financial support through the Cooperative Program allows the Gospel to be intentionally shared in various cultures and contexts.

Pray that God would continue to save the lives of entire families, both in Japan and all over the world.
