COATESVILLE, Pa., (BRN) The Community Connect was an event that brought our new church, Breathe Community Church, together and began to set the foundation for mobilization and outreach.
We had over 40 volunteers (that is larger than our Sunday morning attendance) and the event was done with excellence!
The food was amazing! We served everything from chicken BBQ to a pig roast, to hot dogs, real ice cream, cotton candy, popcorn and Philly pretzels.
We also had a large gaming and inflatable festival available for families, and the challenge of axe throwing for the adults. We had over 50 different families register and more come to enjoy the day.
Our biggest win was this: For more than a decade, the property and location of our church was an easy ‘pass’ with no activity, but during Community Connect thousands of cars passed by and we saw activity, families, fun and faith. It was definitely one step in the right direction!
Additionally, the gospel was shared! The gospel was first and foremost demonstrated as we engaged and were present with our community – the first time in a long time. An invitation to our morning service was extended and the gospel was clearly presented.
