PHILADELPHIA (BRN) – On Good Friday, April 7, Saint John Memorial Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, partnered with Ekklesia of North Philadelphia to take Jesus to the streets.
Our goal was to proclaim Matthew 28:19-20 as we traveled around the neighborhood and shared the good news of Jesus.
We had four preachers participate and preach the seven last words of Christ from a flatbed trailer, which led a procession of 8-10 cars as well as numerous young people and adults who walked. These community members traveled to four different locations, where the gospel was preached. We prayed for multiple families and invited numerous people to visit our churches. We are already planning to duplicate this initiative once a month as long as the weather permits.
During the event, Saint John Memorial and Ekklesia saw 50 people participate. The pastors and church members had a total of 45 gospel conversations along the way and witnessed eight people accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
