On March 17, the Harvest Church Campus in Indiana, Pennsylvania hosted a dinner for foster and adoptive parents. The goal of the event was three-fold. First, to express appreciation for the love that foster and adoptive parents show to children in need. Second, to provide a means for families walking similar journeys in life to connect and build relationships. Third, to present the wonderful gospel of Jesus Christ to those present.

Harvest Church hosted 29 foster and adoptive parents for the dinner.

We were very excited to see these three goals met. Twenty-nine parents came to the dinner and were served a catered meal, while their children received care and pizza in the children’s ministry area. The parents enjoyed the dinner while they met new friends and exchanged contact information.

Following dinner, Pastor Joe Killeen shared the gospel message by recalling aspects of his family’s adoption journey and how the picture of adoption on earth relates to becoming children of God when we accept Christ’s gift of salvation. Of the parents in attendance, seventeen were from the community and not regular attendees of Harvest Church.
