Hello, BRN Family! It’s good to be with you today!
A few weeks ago, I introduced our Accelerate Conference, which is the annual business session and gathering for the Baptist Resource Network’s Southern Baptist churches throughout Pennsylvania and South Jersey. Today, I wanted to give you a bit more detail about this vital conference.
First, please mark your calendars for Tuesday, October 5, for the all-day gathering at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Hotel in Harrisburg. The day will begin with a brief business session at 9 a.m., followed by a full day of worship and engaging conference content.
This year’s conference is based on the theme #LovePASJ, a three-phase initiative that seeks to accelerate a Kingdom movement of Baptist Resource Network churches loving their neighbors in such a way that the statistic of 14 million lost people in PA/SJ is dramatically reduced — or even abolished!
We are praying participants will walk away inspired to love their neighbors more deeply and to join other churches all across our region in making a greater impact for the Gospel.
The Accelerate Conference will feature keynote presentations by Will Mancini, the founder of the Future Church Co., and author of six books, including Younique, Clarity Spiral, God Dreams, Innovating Discipleship, and Church Unique. Will’s visionary planning tools, the Vision Frame and the Horizon Storyline, are used by thousands of churches every year. The BRN is especially thankful for Will’s leadership through his other organization, Denominee, which helps networks and denominations reinvent how they bring value to the church.
This year’s conference will also feature several practical ministry breakout sessions, including “How can we know our neighbors if they won’t talk to us?”, “How do I engage my neighbors who are different than me?”, “How can I lead my church to reach out beyond its four walls?”, “Unpacking what you need to know to impact the next generation with the Gospel”, “How can I create a prayer movement within my church?”, and “Having ‘eyes to see and ears to hear’ as you study your community.”
We urge you to stay for dinner at the conclusion of the conference, where you will have opportunity to view a dinner performance by local artists, Piercing Word. This theater ministry will present a word for word performance of The Sermon on the Mount. Please note: a love offering for the traveling team will be taken.
Then, attendees may choose to stay overnight for an extended time of rest or they can travel home back to their families and ministries. It’s up to you!
