With the Serve Tour Philadelphia right around the corner, Dr. Barry Whitworth urges churches to pray for all involved--those around the nation who are coming to minister as well as those in the churches and communities being touched by the effort.

Hello, BRN Family! It’s great to be with you today!

Did you know the Serve Tour Philadelphia is just around the corner? On Sept. 15-16, volunteers from across the nation will join BRN churches and Send Relief in ministering to the city of Philadelphia. Through the Serve Tour, churches will engage in compassion ministry, seeking to meet needs and bless churches, schools, local governments, and other compassion ministries.

The goal is for the Serve Tour to become a unifying opportunity for Southern Baptists to demonstrate to a watching city who we are and, more importantly, who our Savior is.

We invite you to sign up today to make a difference in our own backyard. Churches may choose from 40 different ministry projects. They range from evangelism, block parties, and food distribution to homeless ministry, community beautification, and so much more! Those who preregistered now need to register and select their preferred project before another church chooses that option. All the details are available at www.servetour.org.

As your executive director, I want to encourage all our BRN churches to pray for all the projects that are taking place. Many people on the national and local level have worked hard to make it easy for our churches to bring people together in Jesus’ name to make a difference.

We trust God is moving across our region, and we look forward to the ripple effect these two days of ministry will have all across our two states. Please pray. I believe God “is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us!” To him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen!
