Faith-Based Security and Resilience Learning Series

The Pennsylvania Governor’s Office of Homeland Security (GOHS), in partnership with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, Pennsylvania State Police, the three Fusion Centers (PaCIC, WPAHFC, DVIC) across the Commonwealth, Faith-based Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (FB-ISAO), and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), is offering a quarterly virtual learning series to Faith-based Organizations. This learning series will provide valuable information to religious leaders, security personnel and members of the houses of worship to enhance security and resilience.
Please join us for the second quarterly event on Thursday, April 7, 2022, with a presentation from Supervisory Social Science Research Specialist for the U.S. Secret Service’s National Threat Assessment Center (NTAC), Mr. Jeffrey McGarry. Mr. McGarry will be providing an overview of statistical research and data gleaned from case studies on targeted violence at faith-based organizations.
Mr. Keith Shores, Director of Security Operations for the LCBC Church, will be joining us to speak about Best Security Practices for Houses of Worship. Mr. Shores will discuss the Left of the Bang/ event thinking; staff preparedness and building volunteer security teams; security cameras, radios, door access; research; and how to be your own detective.
Attendees will also receive an update on the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency’s Non-Profit Security Grant Program and some guidance for submitting applications. There will be time set aside for Questions & Answers.
