On February 5, 1994, the property at 98 Holbrook Street was purchased. This was bought with the purpose of it being a Volunteer house and multi-ministry center. The house was of great value in housing volunteers and serving as a center for seminary education for the Harrisburg area. Jim and Ann Cravens lived in the house for several months and helped initiate renovations. On September 1, 1994, Howard and Jean Girard came to live in the house and to serve as its first host and hostess and to coordinate the use of volunteers to complete renovations.
