Hello BRN Family! It’s good to be with you today. The Baptist Resource Network has been working hard to develop conference options for our churches, such as our Accelerate and Advance Conferences, to help churches accelerate Kingdom movement. New to these offerings is the Amplify conference, which focuses entirely on the student population.
BRN held its first Amplify Conference, when nearly 70 college students from five campuses across Pennsylvania/South Jersey gathered at Camp Hebron in Halifax, Pa., on Nov. 1-3.
Throughout the weekend, students heard from Tony Banks, pastor of Agape Bible Fellowship Church in Richton Park, Illinois. He is a former collegiate minister who is passionate about young people and the Gospel.
Students also enjoyed breakout sessions led by Buff McNickle, BRN Director of Compassion Ministry and Partnership, and Dr. Kyle Canty, North American Mission Board Send City Missionary for Philadelphia.
Worship was led throughout the weekend by Think of 3, an alternative rock Christian band based in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.
We’re so thankful for how God moved among the college students during this retreat weekend. We’re also excited about the upcoming February Amplify retreat for students in 7-12th grades, also to be held at Camp Hebron.
This event on February 21-23 is intended to help students take the NEXT STEP in what it means for the presence of Christ Jesus as Savior and Lord to be AMPLIFIED in their lives.
Again, Pastor Tony Banks will serve as camp pastor, and Think of 3 will provide worship. In addition, there will be two breakout sessions, which unpack what it means to GROW UP INTO HIM as a Kingdom Citizen.
I urge you to let your students know about this special event, which costs $125 per individual. This includes lodging, all meals, as well as activities.
During this weekend long experience, young people will be challenged and impacted by the Gospel of Jesus Christ as they learn why He came to us, lived among us, gave His life for us, and ultimately how we are to respond to Him now.
