Hello, BRN churches. My name is Kenton Hunt. I’m your disaster relief director. I want to alert you to what’s going on in the aftermath of hurricanes Helene and Milton. There have been a, a lot of volunteers from our churches who have headed south to offer their help. I’m so proud of them, and we keep on praying for them, and I’m urging you to do the same.

The problem is that as other things are going on locally and nationally, the memory of those events, those disasters, is going to be in dissolve, and we’re gonna forget about them. But it’s too soon to do that. And so you need to know that my intent is
to send a team every week for the rest of the year, and we have been pretty good at doing that.

So far Southern Baptist Disaster Relief has produced over a million hot meals. We’ve completed over 3,900 cleanup jobs. And I’m not saying that to brag, but rather to illustrate that it takes a lot of hard work to get to this next number. And that is … that through that work, 225 people that we know of have received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. And so we rejoice over that work,
and I’m inviting people from all of our churches to get involved in not only doing the physical labor, but also doing the spiritual work of proclaiming Jesus Christ.

In this disaster response, there’s a way to get involved in and to get trained. And so, I’m going to send you to brnunited.org/helene to get information on how to get your training, how to do background checks, and how to make a donation, a monetary donation. So, um, that’s pretty easy actually, and you’re welcome to ask me any questions. In regard to that, please stay tuned for all announcements coming up in regard to this great work that we do together.
