Hey BRN Family, Elizabeth here and it’s time for the October Top 5!

#1: We wanted to extend a special thank you to our guests who have already signed up to attend the October 7 Accelerate Conference! It will be truly wonderful to gather again and to be encouraged by Drs. Barry Whitworth and Larry Anderson, the Fellowship CrossPoint worship team, four special guests who will share dynamic testimonies, and our many breakout speakers. It’s not too late to sign up! Walk-in registrations open at 8 a.m. on Tuesday at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg/Hershey Hotel. Can’t join us? No worries. The main session and breakout sessions replays will be recorded and soon posted to www.acceleratepasj.com.

#2- During this year’s conference, the BRN will unveil the conversation starter, “Are You Ready to Lead Your Church to the Next Level?” It’s been said that most people overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in ten years. Although ten-year planning may seem too distant, what is God calling you and your church to accomplish in the next 3-5 years, or even this next year? We will kick off this conversation at this year’s Accelerate Conference, so don’t miss out!!

#3- Have you seen the news yet? This past month, over 294 volunteers from 27 BRN churches and 8 other churches and organizations, completed 19 projects and served 3,448 people in Erie in the BRN’s first official #ServePASJ emphasis. Through these efforts, an estimated 306 gospel conversations occurred! We are grateful for our partners, Millcreek Community Church,, Harborcreek Community Church, and Walnut Creek Baptist Church – and Erie City Mission, one of the leading ministry organizations in Erie. Mark your calendars now because on June 27-18, 2025, we will host the next emphasis, Serve Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Check out all the news at brnunited.org/news.

#4- On Nov. 2, beginning at 10 a.m., the PA/SJ WMU will host its 2024 annual meeting at Redland Baptist Church in New Cumberland, Pa., for 6th-12th grade girls and all adults interested in missions. Registration costs $10, which includes lunch. Email pa.sjwmu@gmail.com for more information.

#5- On the SBC’s annual calendar, October is set as Cooperative Program Month, which is a time to remember all that God has accomplished through this collective effort. To help churches understand more about the Cooperative Program, the BRN will unveil a new “Our Cooperative Partnership” guide as well as an animated explainer video that churches can use. Want a sneak peek? Check it all out at brnunited.org/cp.

That’s all for October. Thanks for watching, BRN Family. We appreciate you and we are thankful for you!
