PHILADELPHIA (BRN) – This past weekend, Aug. 16-17, Bedrock Church Fishtown was able to display the love of Jesus to some of the most neglected people in our city. We believe that simple acts of kindness are powerful displays of the Lords provision to beautiful people who are created in His image.
This past weekend four churches partnered together to serve our city (Bedrock Fishtown, Bedrock Franklin County, Hillcrest Church, Bedrock Lynchburg). We our service projects happened over Friday and Saturday and consisted of:
⁃ Alpha Pregnancy Center – Cleaned, Sorted and Prepared donations for distribution to mothers who need them.
⁃ Grill Ministry – Served 300 hamburgers to homeless on Kensington Ave.
⁃ Table Ministry Building Project – Painted and cleaned the new table ministry building on Sledgley Ave.
⁃ Block party on Kensington Ave – Partnered with the Table ministry to host a block party for the Kensington community in the Sankofa Academy parking lot on Kensington Ave. Kensington neighbors were given a warm meal, packaged food, foot washing, haircuts, wound care, clothing, prayer, live worship and preaching. We had 200+ Kensington neighbors get served.
Many seeds of faith were sown over this weekend. Please be praying specifically over the individuals that made a choice to follow Jesus and those that decided to enter detox programs.
