WAYNESBORO, Pa, (BRN) – During the TellGate Grill promotion at Central Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, we went to three separate communities in the area and handed out burgers, hot dogs and bottles of water. Everyone who we gave food to received a flier about our Vacation Bible School (VBS). We also used the time grilling to talk to the people about VBS and our church.

During Vacation Bible School, we used Lifeway’s Breaker Rock Beach curriculum. We had 32 kids come out throughout the week, and 19 volunteers overall. The kids learned about the Bible each day, in addition to having snacks, playing games and doing crafts. We were also able to form relationships with the children, and invited each of them to our kids and youth ministry on Sunday evenings.

We then had a pool party at the end of the week, and about 60 people showed up. One child was baptized, and a second child came forward saying that he wanted to be baptized, but he couldn’t that night because he had an ear infection.

The gospel was presented during the lessons at VBS. Additionally, Pastor John gave a gospel presentation at the pool party, so that everyone attending heard it. It was also shared throughout the week through individual conversations with kids and adults. We estimate that we had close to 100 gospel conversations throughout the week.
