Summer fun should be mandated for us as grown women just as it was when we were children. We cannot outgrow it. Campfires are a favorite pastime for summer evenings (or autumn, for that matter). Why not do this with the women of your church? All that’s needed is a few fire logs, lawn chairs, hot dogs or s’more fixings and a group of ladies that enjoy one another’s company.
The evening can flow naturally or begin with an icebreaker or silly songs, followed by a few praise songs. Assign someone to lead the group in a devotional. Testimonies can be shared. There may be laughter, even a few tears. Eventually the ladies may break into private conversations with those seated around them. Friends can catch up. New friends can be made. And all of you will have the opportunity to grow closer to Christ and your sweet sisters, while you celebrate the long, lazy days of summer.
