FREEPORT, Pa., (BRN) – For the fourth year in a row, Expressway Baptist Church in Freeport, Pennsylvania, went outside of its physical walls of the church building and brought the Good News of Jesus Christ to the Sheldon Park Housing Projects in Natrona Heights in the form of Backyard Bible School.

Using the Answers in Genesis material, The Great Jungle Journey, the church carefully shared with over 35 children every day about Creation, the Cross and Christ.

Expressway Baptist Church’s volunteers worked daily with the children to memorize 1 Timothy 1:17: “To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.”

Every afternoon, Expressway Baptist provided a small dinner for any and everyone who wanted to eat. Then, after an opening assembly of singing and going over the Bible memory verse, the children were taken to one of three classes where they were clearly taught about God’s majestic act in creation.

The children learned they have value and worth because they are “fearfully and wonderfully made” by God. They learned about the fall of mankind and the salvation that can be theirs because of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
