NEW KENSINGTON, Pa., (BRN) – On the evening of Sunday, June 9, Reclamation Church New Kensington in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, hosted our very first block party at our new church property.

We were gifted a 120-year-old church building from a Lutheran Church that closed its doors last year. As a church plant, this gift of a building, and the parking lot to go with it, provided a great platform to begin to reach more people in our neighborhood. We hosted this block party with the help from a mission team from Englewood Baptist in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

We cooked over 100 hamburgers and hot dogs, gave out cotton candy, snow cones and popcorn. We also had a bounce house for the kids.

We were blessed to talk with lots of people who we have never met before and to begin to promote our churches first ever Vacation Bible School coming up later this summer.

We were able to share the gospel and pray with many people in our community. The gospel was primarily shared through personal conversations. We estimate that our volunteers engaged in at least 40 gospel conversations during the event.
