CHESTERFIELD, NJ, (BRN) – Fellowship CrossPoint Church in Chesterfield, New Jersey, is so thankful for your joyful generosity to continue reaching the spiritual hunger in our community and around the world through meeting physical hunger in Ecuador.
Thanks to CrossPoint’s partnership with the Baptist Resource Network (BRN), in the last 12 months we have been able to do two small missional packs to reach outside organizations in our community and one larger pack with our church community and local organizational partners, such as the Girl Scouts and Civil Air Patrol.
Through those three packs we sent 114,000 meals to malnourished kids in Ecuador and spread the hope of Jesus to hurting communities. We’ve been praying about expanding our reach to our local community, and on June 8, 2024, we saw that prayer answered with a partnership at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, which reached 73 military and family members and packed 14,000 meals!
During the pack, we explicitly shared the gospel by explaining how all people experience both physical and spiritual hunger, and that Jesus is the one who can satisfy that desire. God invites all of us into a relationship with Him through His Son Jesus, through his death and resurrection. We also gave out cards that shared the same message and provided a way for them to contact us.
With the addition of this pack, in the last three years we have sent a quarter million meals to kids around the world and reached 1500 people in our local community. Inviting people into a good thing that they do not yet know is a God thing.
The military pack was a test-bed for future partnerships with the base, and we were so encouraged by the response! We prayed for 50 volunteers and were blown away by the 73 volunteers who eagerly served, some of whom even stayed late because their kids wanted to keep working. The base is already asking for more, and we’re praying that God opens the doors for a large pack on base in the fall.
