MLK Day of Service

On January 20, Send Relief will be reaching out to people in need on the Martin Luther King Jr. national day of service, and we invite you to join a service project at one of our Send Relief ministry centers, including the Pittsburgh Ministry Center in Mount Washington.

Launch a Backpack Project

If you aren’t close to a ministry center, you can launch a backpack project in your own community through your church or at your school.

To help you get started, Send Relief is offering backpacks at cost if you order within the next 48 hours. The backpacks come in cases of 24 for a price of $84—that’s only $3.50 for each backpack. While supplies last, Send Relief will also provide Send Relief T-shirts to groups that register with at least 20 volunteers. Our website also features:

• A “how to” guide to help you with your backpack project.
• A downloadable promotions kit you can use to encourage people to participate.

Let’s all consider this time as “a day on, not a day off,” by honoring King’s life and sharing the love of Christ in tangible ways.
