Hi BRN Family, Elizabeth here and it’s time for the May Top 5!
#1:Small-Church Ministry Expert Karl Vaters, a small church pastor and author who produces resources to help small churches thrive, will offer a one-day experience for pastors this June. Topics will include Redefining Success; “Big” vs. “Small” Churches; Finding & Training Volunteers for Tomorrow’s Church; and De-Sizing the Church. You have two opportunities to attend this experience, Tuesday, June 4 at Carlisle Baptist Church or Wednesday, June 5 at Restored Church. Learn more at brnunited.org/vaters.
#2: In conjunction with National College Decision Day – May 1 – the BRN asks each of our partnering churches to complete a Next Gen NEXT STEPS Survey to help our collegiate missionaries serving universities across PA and NJ to identify what our young people are planning to do as they finish high school. This year’s survey, located at brnunited.org/cmsurvey, will conclude on June 30. Also, campus missionaries, as well as collegiate church planters, collegiate pastors, ministry interns, and volunteers, are invited to a BRN Next Campus Ministers’ Retreat on June 7-9 in Harrisburg. This will be a time of fellowship, reflection, celebration, and connecting after the close of the academic school year. To learn more, contact Stan Williams at StanW@brnunited.org.
#3: Momentum is growing for the BRN’s D-Life discipleship training! Did you know that D-Life exists to equip COMMON people to be Christ-like disciple-makers? Many people talk about disciple-making, but the purpose of D-Life is to train you how. David Ludwig, BRN’s associate director of church health and discipleship, would love to host a D-Life Boot Camp at your church. The D-Life process is biblical, simple, and reproducible and uses the Bible as its textbook. Want to learn more? Contact David Ludwig.
#4: On September 20-21, churches throughout the Baptist Resource Network are invited to participate in Serve Erie, an initiative to serve downtown Erie, the poorest zip code in Pennsylvania. Your church can help shine the light of the gospel in several ways, including evangelism, light construction, work with immigrants, mobile grill outreach, school and community beautification and more! The specific list of projects will go live in July. Stay tuned at servepasj.com.
#5: Speaking of evangelism, do you need an evangelism grant to support your evangelistic outreaches this summer? We urge you to apply for evangelism grants specifically to support and promote your outreach events and evangelistic efforts. Apply today at brnunited.org/grants.
That’s all for May. Thanks for watching, BRN Family. We appreciate you and we are thankful for you!
