God has been at work in a special way over the last few years in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, as His Gospel has been shared through Christmas outreach opportunities.
The annual local Spirit of Christmas festival has allowed Revive Community Fellowship a unique way to reach out to the local community and show them the love of Christ. Through the partnership with Olive Chapel Baptist Church from Apex, North Carolina, and the Appalachian Mountain Ministry, Revive has been able to minister by providing backpacks to children in town and around the surrounding areas.
This year over 150 backpacks, filled with basic essential hygiene items, winter gear, toys and a Bible, were handed out to children from the local community throughout the span of two days, which included a carnival and Santa breakfast, made possible through a BRN Evangelism grant.
The gospel was shared through tracts, candy, games, crafts, and speaking individually with each family who was receiving the backpack.
Some family groups received the invitation to pray together with them over their needs and situations, including wanting relief and hope for depression, struggles with mental health, and relationship issues.
As people continue to struggle in northeast PA to accept the freedom of Christ that is not through works, opportunities like this allow them to see that grace is a free gift, just like the backpack and gifts. The love of Christ and freedom through His grace is available and offered for all.
Please continue to pray for Revive Community Fellowship as they seek to break generational gaps and reach the lost to come to know and receive Christ as a free gift this Christmas season. Pray for people to know and realize that they are loved and God desires not religion from them, but rather a personal relationship. Also, pray that people come to see and recognize hope and happiness with Christ.
