Hey BRN Family, Elizabeth here and it’s time for the October Top 5!
#1: We wanted to extend a special thank you to our guests who attended the October 3 Accelerate Conference! It was truly wonderful to gather again and to be encouraged by Jeff Christopherson, Barry Whitworth, Jermaine Dolly, and our many breakout speakers. Couldn’t join us? No worries. The main session and breakout sessions replays will soon be posted to www.acceleratepasj.com.
#2- During this year’s conference, the BRN unveiled the third phase of the #LovePASJ initiative, which urges churches to help those they reach GROW through intentional discipleship and leadership development. To that aim, churches were given this year’s #LovePASJ GROW kit, full of free discipleship resources. Didn’t get one? No worries! You may request one at lovepasj.com.
#3- Have you seen the news yet? This past month, during Serve Tour Philadelphia, more than 450 volunteers from 46 churches and 10 different states, served 4,489 people. Through these efforts, 696 gospel conversations occurred, and 74 salvations were reported. We are so thankful for all who joined in this expansive effort, but guess what! It won’t end there! We look forward to replicating the ministry format to reach other cities all across in our region, starting in Erie, Pa. Stay tuned for all the exciting information!
#4- On Nov. 5, beginning at 10 a.m., the PA/SJ WMU will host its 2023 annual meeting at Redland Baptist Church in New Cumberland, Pa. Also, the BRN will host two more Iron Sharpens Iron virtual conversations: On Oct. 9, the conversation will focus on Raising up the Next Generation and on Nov. 13, participants will discuss emerging topics. On November 14, BRN will host a First Steps Gathering for new pastors and newly affiliated churches. Also, the BRN will host Legacy workshops, Church Security workshops, and so much more! Find out more at brnunited.org/events.
#5- On the SBC’s annual calendar, October is set as Cooperative Program Month, which is a time to remember all that God has accomplished through this collective effort. We celebrate the Cooperative Program in our podcast series, “Celebrating Cooperative Missions,” which is available on Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, Google Podcasts, Spotify and more. This monthly podcast is dedicated to informing churches about the Cooperative Program and the mission efforts it supports in Pennsylvania, South Jersey and beyond! Be sure to check it out at brnunited.org/news.
That’s all for October. Thanks for watching, BRN Family. We appreciate you and we are thankful for you!
