Have you ever been to a prayer meeting that went 50 miles an hour? International Mission Board missionaries to Japan, Carlton and Cornelia Walker, go to one every Tuesday morning while riding on a train around Tokyo.
The prayer team rides the JR Yamanote Line that makes 30 stops on a loop around Tokyo and takes a little more than an hour. They follow along with a prayer guide that explains what each neighborhood at each stop is known for and gives corresponding prayer requests.
The goal is to be “onsite with insight” without making a scene. As they circle the city, the missionaries see needs and gain a deeper understanding of spiritual barriers that hold back the megacity of Tokyo from coming to Christ.
The Cooperative Program takes the Gospel to the nations and the neighborhoods. Your financial support through the Cooperative Program helps missionaries travel near and far distances within their area to share the Gospel with those who need to hear it.
Pray for the Walkers as they travel and pray on the train around Tokyo and that their prayers would yield opportunities to share the Gospel with others.
