NEW FREEDOM, Pa., (BRN) – We at Mason Dixon Baptist Church (MDBC) in New Freedom, Pennsylvania, were very encouraged by the Family Car and Bike Show we hosted, despite poor weather. We had over 100 in attendance and more than forty were not a part of MDBC.
From our interactions, we know two to three entrants did not profess Jesus Christ as Lord. We had two cars enter that live in houses next to the church grounds. One does not profess Christ. We hope to connect with both of these neighbors more through our Men’s Ministry. There were family members of MDBC members resistant to attending church that entered cars. The event provided a chance for them to hear the gospel and meet others from MDBC.We had a local Italian Ice business that saw our event on social media reach out to bring their sweet truck. We had over 20 volunteers from MDBC that served 120+ portions of pit beef sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries and iced sodas. These foods and sweets helped draw some from nearby homes.
The team judged vehicles, awarded trophies and gave $250 in fuel gift cards to winners. This was the end of our VBS week at MDBC with hundreds of opportunities to serve over the week. It was encouraging to see so many from MDBC get involved, including many of our youth. We had three lead pastors and four or more other ordained men attend. They were able to mix and mingle with attendees, having multiple Kingdom conversations. Many that attended heard an evangelistic message from Dr. Kenny Craig, who connected judging the imperfections in cars to the judgement of man’s sin, but with the hope we can have in Jesus Christ. Thank you to Baptist Resource Network (BRN) for contributing to this event! It really helped us promote the event on social media and provide meaningful prizes for the winners.
