We have been doing a ladies gathering every month since we have been meeting as New Horizon Church, and what’s funny is that we were meeting way before we even had our church name. It all started with me wanting to get to know the ladies of our core team better. As we grew, I wanted them to get to know each other better too. It started via Zoom (because no one but our family was in Pittsburgh yet), then in our living room and now we have multiple locations as different women of our church host them. We call this gathering “Chick Chats,” and it is just as it sounds–an environment where chicks chat! We like to provide a safe space for what we call “common community.” Our target audience is ladies both from the community and our church. You do not need to be a Jesus follower to attend. We start off with different get-to-know you questions and share snacks. We then talk about what we have seen The Lord do in our lives since the previous gathering. These topics include both good things and unforeseen pain. We laugh, pray, cry and chat –a lot!
