Hello, BRN Family! It’s good to be with you today! I am sure you have heard me say this before: Regional statistics indicate that 14 million people in Pennsylvania/South Jersey do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
But even more alarming… EVERY 4.2 MINUTES, 1 Pennsylvanian or S. Jerseyan DIES without knowing Christ! That fact alone gives urgency to what the Baptist Resource Network–and your church–does everyday.
In an effort to address this lostness, the BRN has dedicated three years to the initiative, #LovePASJ, which seeks to help churches love their neighbors in Pennsylvania/South Jersey. The effort focuses on KNOW (through community exegesis and prayerwalking), SHOW (through missional engagement, evangelism and compassion ministry), and GROW (through intentional discipleship and leadership development).
Accordingly, in 2022, we focused on the phase, KNOW. We will launch the second phase of the initiative, SHOW, at our next Accelerate Conference on October 4. But first, this year’s #LovePASJ Week of Prayer and Offering for Missions will focus on the SHOW phase.
This annual prayer and offering emphasis, usually held the second week in September, allows us to have a continued focus on our neighbors, especially in the areas of collegiate ministry, compassion care, and disaster and crisis relief.
Would you please join us in praying for all of our BRN churches to be sensitive to those around them who do not yet know Jesus?
John 9:4 says, “We must do the works of Him who sent Me while it is day. Night is coming when no one can work.”
What that means there will be a day when we can’t share with others. It will be too late. So the question is: Who is on your watch?
