Hi BRN Family, Elizabeth here, and it’s time for the August Top 5!
#1- At the Baptist Resource Network, we have shared about the 14 million people in our region who do not yet have a saving faith in Jesus Christ. Even more alarming, vital statistics indicate that every 4.2 minutes, one person in Pennsylvania/South Jersey dies and enters an eternity without Jesus. It is urgent that we share Christ. #2- In an effort to address this lostness, the BRN has dedicated three years to the initiative, #LovePASJ, which seeks to help churches love their neighbors in Pennsylvania/South Jersey. The effort focuses on KNOW (through community exegesis and prayerwalking), SHOW (through missional engagement, evangelism and compassion ministry), and GROW (through intentional discipleship and leadership development). #3- Accordingly, in 2022, we focused on the phase, KNOW. We will launch the second phase, SHOW, at our next Accelerate Conference on October 4. At the Accelerate Conference, you can expect to receive a new kit of resources to equip you and your church to love your neighbors. #4- The BRN additionally has themed this year’s annual #LovePASJ Week of Prayer and Offering for Missions based on the SHOW phase. This annual prayer and offering emphasis, usually held the second week in September, allows us to have a continued focus on our neighbors, especially in the areas of collegiate ministry, compassion care, and disaster and crisis relief.
