PHILADELPHIA — First and foremost we are continuing in bold prayer for peace in Ukraine. Our church has organized a daily prayer chain within our congregation, and we continue to pray every time we gather.
For the last three weeks we have been gathering support through our church members both monetary and medical supplies and also recently extended the opportunity out to our community. With the help of God and donations we have been able to channel over $100,000 so far (as of 3/18/22) into multiple regions of Ukraine utilizing known and trusted people. The money is being used for refugee shelter/help, humanitarian aid, medical supplies, spiritual outreach opportunities, and food/medical supplies for the Ukrainian troops.
Also we have shipped over 4,000 lbs. of medical supplies to date, and Lord willing there will be two volunteers from our church going to Hungary with the missionary group from “Baptists on a Mission” next week and two more in April.
We are humbled and overwhelmed by the support of people around us and may the Lord use us for His glory. If anyone is interested in contributing, we have options to give or a link to purchase medical supplies on our church website at www.1stuebc.org. Also, there is an option to give to the Ukrainian Baptist Convention via www.ukrbaptist.org.
